1. Advocate or Lawyer

This profession is probably the most recognizable for law graduates. Advocates or lawyers are tasked with providing legal assistance to individuals or companies, both in dispute resolution in court (litigation) and outside the court (non-litigation). To become an advocate, law graduates must take the Pendidikan Khusus Profesi Advokat (PKPA), pass the advocate profession exam, and intern at an advocate's office for a certain amount of time.

2. Notary

Notary is a profession in charge of making and certifying legal documents, such as deeds of sale and purchase, agreements, and company establishment deeds. This profession is strictly regulated by the Undang-Undang Jabatan Notaris. To become a notary, a law graduate must pursue a Magister Kenotariatan (M.Kn). In addition, notaries also have the responsibility of maintaining the confidentiality of client documents.

3. Judge

Judges are one of the legal professions that have a great responsibility in upholding justice. Judges are tasked with deciding cases in court based on the law and facts revealed during the trial. To become a judge, a law graduate must pass the selection and take part in the education of prospective judges organized by Mahkamah Agung Republik Indonesia through Badan Litbang Diklat Hukum dan Peradilan.

4. Prosecutor

Prosecutors are part of a state institution authorized to carry out prosecution duties in the criminal justice system. Prosecutors are also responsible for executing court decisions that have permanent legal force. To become a prosecutor, law graduates must take part in the selection of prospective prosecutors held by Kejaksaan Agung Republik Indonesia.

5. Legal Consultant

Legal consultant is a profession that provides legal advice to individuals or companies regarding various aspects of law, such as agreements, business contracts, or managing legal risks. This profession is usually run by law graduates who have experience in corporate law or business law.

6. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Consultant

In an increasingly complex business world, IPR consultants are an important profession. They assist clients in the registration of copyrights, trademarks, patents, and industrial designs. To become an IPR consultant, law graduates must take a qualification exam organized by the Direktorat Jenderal Kekayaan Intelektual.

7. Legal Officer or Legal Counsel

This profession is commonly found in companies, both private and state-owned. Legal officers are responsible for ensuring that all company activities comply with applicable laws. Their duties include drafting contracts, resolving business disputes and providing legal advice to management.

8. Arbitrator or Mediator

In the world of dispute resolution, arbitrators or mediators play an important role as neutral parties who help resolve conflicts outside of court. 9. Law Lecturer

For those with an interest in academia, becoming a law lecturer is an attractive career option. To become a lecturer, a master's degree in law is usually required as a minimum requirement.

PPAT is a profession in charge of making authentic deeds related to land, such as buying and selling, grants, or mortgage rights. This profession requires additional education in the field of PPAT after completing a law degree.

11. Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) in the Field of Law

Law graduates can also make a career as PNS in various government agencies, such as the Kementerian Hukum dan HAM, Mahkamah Agung, and Kejaksaan Agung. They are usually placed in positions that require legal expertise, such as drafting regulations or handling legal cases.

12. Activists and Legal Consultants in Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

Many law graduates choose to work for NGOs that focus on legal issues, such as human rights, the environment, or consumer protection. They are often involved in policy advocacy and providing legal assistance to people in need.
